Sports massage on leg

SPORTS MASSAGE

Sports massage is a targeted deep tissue massage. Michelle holds a Level 4 Active IQ qualification in Sports Massage Therapy. This more advanced level of training equips Michelle with the knowledge and skills to screen and assess more clients, to treat and/or seek to correct common patterns of dysfunction and to prevent and manage minor injuries. From time to time, our assessments may indicate referral is needed to a health professional prior to us providing any hands-on treatment. If this is advised, it is with your best interests in mind and to ensure you receive the best possible care.

We will use a variety of techniques during your treatment, as indicated by our assessments. This may include the use of effleurage, petrissage and tapotement techniques along with more advanced techniques such as neuromuscular techniques (trigger point therapy, positional release and muscle energy techniques), and/or soft tissue mobilisation techniques (transverse frictions, soft tissue/myofascial release and connective massage).

Our primary goal is always to help you feel better, reduce your level of pain, to optimise your movement and reduce the risk of re-occurrence of injuries and pain. Whilst sports massage is extremely beneficial for those with certain injuries, and for those participating in regular sports and fitness activities, we also also treat people who may have general aches and pains due to work &/or lifestyle factors.
